J Mayo ATT T: V City Secretary December 28, 1983 To- City of Southlake City Hall Southlake, Tx 76092 Dear Sir; My wife and I have signed a contract to purchase a home and 10 acres located in Southlake. The contract is contingent upon certain changes in land use as follows: The property is located on 10 acres fronting on Farm Road 1709. The house and one acre are currently zoned residential and 9 acres are zoned agriculture. We would like to change one acre of the 9 to Light Commercial. This one acre would be next to Farm Road 1709 with approximately 290 feet fronting on 1709 and approximately 150 feet deep. The best way to describe my business is, the making of parts to order and performing tool and die repair work for the computer industry. My work is performed using digital and computer assisted machine tools. The type of work we do is primarily service oriented. The type of companies we supply this service to are electronic. Example: IBM, Hewlett Packard, Vought Aircraft, Honeywell, Xerox, Atari and Tandy. 50 % of the machines in the shop are just above Hobby Shop size, the rest are medium size not much larger than a refrigerator. My wife and I like the country and my children like animals. In fact if it were not for the money that the shop brings us, we would probably be farmers. What we hope for is a little spot in your town that we can bring a little of the farm into our lives. We respectfully request that the City of Southlake consider our desire to locate our business on Farm Road 1709. We understand that some revision to the current ordinace wording may be necessary. Please inform us 6_f any action that we might take to assist you in your deliberation. You can contact us at any time at the following address and phone number. 11319 Tantor Rd.
