REGULAR AGENDA:
Agenda Item No. 4 - Public Forum:_ No one was present for public forum.
Agenda Item No. 6A. Discussion: Sculpture -Garden in McPherson Park
The Southlake Arts Council discussed the progress for a sculpture garden in the City's
McPherson Park, adjacent to the Hilton Hotel in Town Square. Deputy Director
McGeath recently visited Frisco's sculpture garden to determine how sculpture pieces
could be displayed. Frisco uses concrete bases covered with decomposed granite for
the sculpture platforms. Sculpture pieces are provided by artists on a loan basis;
however, the City must pay for transportation and installation costs. The next step in
developing the sculpture garden in McPherson Park is allocation of funding and funds
are proposed in the FY 2011-12 budget to cover the costs of four or five sculpture
bases. Design of the platform bases may begin in October following approval of the
budget.
Agenda Item No. 6B. Discussion: Roundabout Art Work Progress
The Southlake Arts Council briefly discussed the next step in the roundabout art work
