DISCUSSION:
Agenda Item No, 6A — Discussion. — Public Arts Proiects
Mr. McGeath discussed the hotel/motel tax. The amount collected will automatically
have 15% deducted and put into the city budget for Public Art. In the past, these funds
were lost if not used immediately. This new method will keep the funds in an ongoing
City account available for use. Mr. McGeath will get more information on the funding
issues. Roundabout issues and other displays of art were discussed.
CISD will display art in Town Hall during Art in the Square on the second and third
floors. The Library will also display art on the free standing panels.
Agenda Item No. 5B — Discussion. — Master Plan Work Group Update
The Arts Master Plan should be part of the City Master Plan. The Council discussed
some ways to more quickly advance the Arts Master Plan. The Council would like to
devise a catch phrase to draw attention to art in Southlake.
Agenda Item No. 5C -- Discussion. — APEX update
Ms. Messing gave a brief update about Art in the Square and future events.
Agenda Item No. 6, Adjournment.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 pm.
