SUBJECT: Agenda Item Comments and Other Items of Interest for the
Special Southlake Arts Council Meeting — Wednesday, April 15,
2009 at 6:00 p.m.
Please note the meeting will be held Wednesday, April 15, Southlake Town Hall —

1. Agenda Item No. 2A. Administrative Comments: None at this time.
2. Agenda Item No. 3A. Consent: Approval of the minutes from the March 24 2009
Southlake Arts Council meeting — The minutes will be distributed for your review at
the meeting. If you have corrections to the meeting minutes, please make it part of
the motion for consideration.
3. Agenda Item No. 4. PUBLIC FORUM: This is the public's opportunity to address the
Council about non -agenda items. During this proceeding it is important that the
council not deliberate (discuss among yourselves) or take action on any item
brought up at this time. The councils' options during this topic are 1) to listen; 2) ask
questions and respond to the presenter only; 3) request staff to look into the issue
and report back to the council; and/or 4) request that the chair put the item on a
future agenda for the council to discuss or consider.
4. Aaenda Item No. 5A. Consider: Election of Chair to fill vacancv left by resignation of
Joe Henderson — Arts Council Chair Joe Henderson recently tendered his
resignation to accept a new job which requires a lot of travel and would not allow him
to participate regularly in the Arts Council meetings. Therefore, the Arts Council will
consider electing a new Chair to fill the vacancy. Any standing member may be
considered.
5. Agenda Item No. 5B. Consider: Recommendation to accept the final concepts of the
painting and sculptures for the DPS facilit -- The Arts Council has already approved
the initial concepts by both artists for the art to be placed at the new DPS
headquarters. We will have graphics from each artist available for review at the
meeting. They have not changed substantially from the concepts we approved
earlier. The Crime Control and Prevention District Board will review the concepts on
Tuesday, April 14. If final concepts are approved, they will go to City Council for final
review on April 21, 2009.

6. Agenda Item No. 5A. Discussion: Public Art Pro'ects — This Agenda item is an
opportunity for the Arts Council to review and discuss possible public art projects.
We will also discuss the art "wrap" program.
7. Agenda Item No. 513. Discussion: Master Plan Work Group, Update — This is a
standing item on the agenda to allow for the Master Plan work group to update the
Arts Council and discuss their progress on the development of the Public Arts
Master Plan.
& Agenda Item No. 5C. Discussion: APEX Update This item allows representatives
from APEX to update the Arts Council on APEX's current situation and upcoming
programs.
