SUBJECT: Agenda Item Comments and Other Items of Interest for Southlake Arts
Council Meeting — Tuesday, March 26, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
Please note the meeting will be held in Town Hall, Room 3A (3r4 floor).
Agenda Item No. 2. Administrative Comments:
A. Bob Jones Nature Center Grand Opening — The public will be celebrating the
grand opening of the Nature Center throughout the month of April. Staff will
provide each of you with a schedule of events at this meeting. The April Arts
Council meeting will be held at the Nature Center as well.
B. DPS Central Call to Artists — Staff will be sending out the call to artists for the
DPS Central facility in the next few weeks.
Aaenda Item No. 3A. Consent: Approval of the _minutes from the February 26, 2008
Southlake Arts Council meeting -- If you have corrections to either meeting minutes,
please let Administrative Secretary Nancy Roper know in advance or make it part of the
motion for consideration. Nancy can be reached via e-mail at proper ci.southlake.tx.us
or by calling her at (817) 748-8249.
3. Agenda Item No. 4. PUBLIC FORUM: This is the public's opportunity to address the
Council about non -agenda items. During this proceeding it is important that the council
not deliberate (discuss among yourselves) or take action on any item brought up at this
time. The councils' options during this topic are 1) to listen; 2) ask questions and
respond to the presenter only; 3) request staff to look into the issue and report back to
the council; and/or 4) request that the chair put the item on a future agenda for the
council to discuss or consider.
4. Agenda Item No. 5A. Consider: Approval of Call to Artists document — Staff has worked
on the call to artists' document with the Artist Selection work group and will present the
document for approval at this meeting.
Agenda Item No. 6A. Discussion: Artist Selection Work Group Report — The Artist
Selection work group will provide information on where we stand in regard to issues
they have been working on.
Agenda Item No. 6B. Discussion: Master Plan Work Group Report — The Master Plan
work group will provide information on where we stand in regard to issues they have
been working on.

UNAPPROVED BY MEMBERS OF THE SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL
Agenda Item No. 5A Consider — Appointment of Arts Council Members to participate in
the Call to Artists Development Work Group.
The council considered appointment of three (3) members to serve on a work group
with staff to develop a standard Call to Artists document for use on all future public art
projects. Members of the work group may review and make recommendations back to
the Arts Council on artist selections for upcoming public art projects.
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to appoint Char Wiersum,
Jenny Tilbury and Peggy Firestone to the Call to Artists Development Work Group.
Agenda Item No. 5B Consider — Appointment of Arts Council Members to participate in
the Public Arts Master Plan Development Work Group.
The council considered appointment of four (4) members to serve on a work group with
staff to develop a Public Arts Master Plan document.
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to appoint Jeff Walter, Terri
Messing, Jeane Alexander and Karin Newell to the Public Arts Master Plan Work
Group.
