Council Meeting — Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.
Please note the meeting location will be in the Executive Conference Room, adjacent to the
Council Chambers and City Secretary's Office.
Agenda Item No. 2. Administrative Comments:

2. Agenda Item No 3A Consent: Approval of the minutes from the September 25, 2007
Southlake Arts Council meeting - If you have corrections to either meeting minutes, please
let Administrative Secretary Nancy Roper know in advance or make it part of the motion
for consideration. Nancy can be reached via e-mail at nroper@ci.southlake.tx.us or by

Agenda Item No. 4. PUBLIC FORUM: This is the public's opportunity to address the
Council about non -agenda items. During this proceeding it is important that the council not
deliberate (discuss among yourselves) or take action on any item brought up at this time.
The councils' options during this topic are 1) to listen; 2) ask questions and respond to the
presenter only; 3) request staff to look into the issue and report back to the council; and/or
4) request that the chair put the item on a future agenda for the council to discuss or
consider.
4. Agenda Item No 5A. Discussion: Art Work for City Roundabouts — Staff will present an
update on the scheduled FY 2008 roundabout projects, followed by a general overview of
how the on -going citywide Urban Design Study relates to the incorporation of public art in
the roundabouts.
5. Agenda Item No. 5B. Discussion: Public Art Initiative — Staff will present an overview of
FY 2008 public art funding along with potential locations for incorporation.

22 Agenda Item No. 1, Call to Order. — Mr. McGeath called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.

24 Agenda Item No.,,2 — Administrative Comments.

26 A. Welcome and Introduction — Each new member introduced him or her self and
27 gave a short biographical comment.

29 B. Oath of Office — Mr. McGeath administered the Oath of Office.

31 C. Board Orientation (October 17) — Each member received an invitation. All City
32 of Southlake Board, Council, and Committee members will convene in the
33 Council Chambers for the first part of the meeting. Then members will go to
34 breakout sessions for their specific group.

36 D. Southlake Arts Council Overview — All art related matters will come to this group
37 first. Then recommendations will be forwarded to the City Council.

39 Agenda Item No 3 — Consider - Election of Southlake Arts Council Officers for 2007-08

41 Mr. Henderson volunteered for the Chair position. Mrs. Firestone volunteered for the Vice Chair
42 position. Nominations were made, seconded and the members were unanimously voted into
43 these positions. It was decided not to have a secretary position for the group.

Mr. McGeath explained the mechanism of the Public forum. Chair Henderson opened and
closed the Public Forum as there was no one who wanted to speak.
Agenda Item No. 5 Discussion — Public Arts Projects
Mr. McGeath had a presentation of the current and future projects. The members discussed
some of the issues relating to art in the traffic circles.
Agenda Item No. 7, Other Items:
Meetings will be the fourth Tuesday of every month. October will have two meetings because of
the orientation on October 17`h. The packet for the regular monthly meeting will be available on
the web page the Friday before every meeting.
Mr. McGeath adjourned the meeting at 6:50 pm.
