CALL TO ORDER Southlake Arts Council Chairman Leslie Bartlett called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. PUBLIC FORUM Chair Leslie Bartlett opened the Public Forum at 6:00 p.m. There being no one wishing to address the Arts Council, the Public Forum was closed. 3. CONSIDER AGENDA 3A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 25, 2019 SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING APPROVED A motion was made to approve the minutes of the June 25, 2019 Southlake Arts Council meeting, noting a spelling correction on item 4B. RECOMMENDATION ON ART FOR THE FALL ART EXHIBIT Staff liaison, Cassie Tucker, presented the images for the Fall Art Exhibit prepared by Artist Farah Janjua from the two art galleries; Cultural Diversity and Jerusalem and opened discussion. Southlake Arts Council selected 13 images. A motion was made to approve the images as selected by the Southlake Arts Council. Motion: McMillan Second: Murray Ayes: Bartlett, Messing, Terrazas Nays: None Abstain: None Vote: 5-0 4. DISCUSSION 4A. APEX REPORT Terri Messing presented the APEX report and opened discussion. • Discussed catering options for the Fall Art Exhibit • Images will be hung on the 13t" at gam • A program will not be printed • Background Music- Cassie will follow up with Lauren • Flower arrangements should be bright and fun • Discussed details of the Fall Art Exhibit plan for catering, set up, music, decor, and that the images will be hung by the parks staff • Bathroom renovations will be completed by the 22nd • Cassie will ask about rearranging emergency preparedness displays 4B. PUBLIC ART UPDATE Strategic Operations Manager and Arts Council liaison Cassie Tucker presented a staff report and answered questions. Discussion topics included: City of Southlake Values: Integrity ♦ Innovation ♦ Accountability ♦ Commitment to Excellence ♦ Teamwork 3A-2 Minutes of the August 27, 2019 Southlake Arts Council Meeting Page 3of3 • Early December for installation at White's Chapel or early February dependent upon construction and weather. The Prairie piece will be installed at the same time weather permitting. Donkey art is ready; however, private construction is not. Installation will begin in December or February weather permitting. Mockingbird is tentative for May. • Leslie's final meeting on September 24t", retiring from Arts Council 5.
