August 19, 2024 Revision to Original of July 29, 2024
To whom it may concern;
Carrus Behavioral Hospital, LLC provides inpatient behavioral health hospitalization for
pediatric and adolescent children during short term stays in our Sherman hospital.
We are proud to help our patients through intensive and committed care, however, such
care is of limited duration.
We believe it is essential for the children to have options for continuing care and have
therefore initiated a program of establishing outpatient day program facilities throughout
the DFW greater metropolitan area.
The patients are admitted into the outpatient day program subject to medical designations
either under an Intensive Outpatient Program designation (IOP) or a Partial Hospitalization
Program designation (PHP) respectively.
So far 4 clinics have been opened this year and another clinic is due to open in Mansfield
by August 1, 2024. The facility we are proposing for Southlake would make number 6 and
another in Plano is on schedule for this year as well.
The patients are on site from 9:00 AM until5:00 PM. Transportation is drop off by parents or
guardian or alternatively Uber service. They bring their own lunch.
The facility will consist of 3 classrooms with a maximum of 12 students each separated
into age groups. Each classroom has a therapist and an aide, supported by a full time
nurse, part time psychiatrist, a receptionist and an intake/manager for a total of 46. There
is no visitation due to H.I.I.P.A. requirements and intake is by appointment only consisting
of a maximum of 2 parents and a child for a total of 49 total maximum.
We are experiencing a variety of interpretations between the various communities we
propose to serve as to the proper zoning designation of our program and understand that
for us to open a facility in Southlake,TX it will be subject to our obtaining a Specific Use
Permit as a Behavioral Health Private Day School.
Should you require further clarification, information or documentation as it relates to our
application, please contact the undersigned and I will coordinate our providing same to
you expeditiously!
