Members Present: Chair MaryLee Alford, Vice Chair Greta Schumacher, and SAC members
Brent Mcllvain, William Meddings, Bernadette MacDermott, John Slocum and Alternate Patty
Rodgers
Commission Members Absent: Julie Walter
Staff Members Present: Hospitality and Sales Manager of Legends Hall at The Marq
Southlake Crystal Maddalena, Deputy Director Ryan McGrail, Senior Services Coordinator
Soheila Mashat-Phelps, and Cynthia Pfleddrer Deputy Director of Library Sciences
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Alford called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to order at 1.00 P.M.
2. CONSENT
Consent Agenda items are considered routine by the Commission and are enacted with
one motion.
A. Approve the minutes from the January 14, 2025, Senior Advisory Commission Meeting
Chair Alford presented Item 2A, including approval of the January 14, 2025,
meeting minutes. Chair Alford asked if there were any revisions to the minutes.
No revisions.
APPROVED
A motion was made to approve the minutes of January 14, 2025.

Second: Slocum
Ayes: Alford, Schumacher, MacDermott, Meddings, Mcllvain, Slocum
Nays: None
Abstention- 0
Vote: 6-0
Motion passed.
3. PUBLIC FORUM
Chair Afford opened the Public Forum at 1:02 P.M. There being no one to address the
Senior Advisory Commission

Commission, Public Forum was closed at 1:02 P.M.
4. DISCUSSION (No vote on Discussion Items)
A. Guest Speaker - Cynthis Pfledderer, Deputy Director of Library Services
Cynthia Pfledderer presented to the Senior Advisory Commission and was available to
answer questions.
B. Review of SAC Strategic Priorities - FY 2024 Accomplishments and FY 2025 Work
Plan
Deputy Director of Community Services, Ryan McGrail, gave a brief overview of the
workplan and announced that staff will present a detailed version of the workplan at the
next Senior Advisory Meeting.
A. Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORC)
Chair Alford spoke about NORC and highlighted how Southlake is excelling in this area.
She encouraged members of the Commission to be involved in all aspects of Senior
Services outside of the Commission.
5. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Alford adjourned the meeting at 2:09 P.M.
