CALL TO ORDER Chair Magdalena Battles called the regular Parks and Recreation Board meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. CONSENT AGENDA 2A. APPROVE MINUTES FROM THE JOINT SPDC AND PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING HELD JANUARY 21, 2025 The minutes of the January 21, 2025, joint SPDC and Parks and Recreation Board meeting were approved with no changes or corrections. Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine and are enacted with one motion by the Board. Motion: Venesky Second: Sansone Ayes: Sansone, Klaas, Battles, Thomas, Venesky Nays: None Abstain: None Vote: 5-0 Motion carried. 3. PUBLIC FORUM Chair Battles opened Public Forum at 6:02 p.m. There being no one to speak, Chair Battles closed Public Forum at 6:03 p.m. 4. CONSIDER 4A. RECOMMENDATION OF APPROVAL FOR AN SPDC MATCHING FUNDS REQUEST FROM WATERMERE AT SOUTHLAKE CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE WATERMERE AT SOUTHLAKE PARK GAZEBO IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 Director Miller presented item 4A to the Park Board for consideration. Director Miller was available to answer questions. APPROVED A motion was made to approve the SPDC Matching Funds Request from Watermere at Southlake Condominium Association for the replacement of the Watermere at Southlake Park Gazebo in an amount not to exceed $25,000. SOUTHLAKE YOUTH ASSOCIATIONS City of Southlake Values.- Integrity♦ Innovation ♦ Accountability♦ Commitment to Excellence ♦ Teamwork Minutes of the February 10, 2025 Parks Board Meeting Page 3 of 4 The Park Board received dashboard reports in their meeting packet for the Southlake Girls Softball Association, Lady Dragon Lacrosse, Miracle League Southlake, Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association, Grapevine Southlake Soccer Association, Dragon Youth Football Association, and Dragon Youth Baseball Association. Representatives from Southlake's youth athletic associations were present to respond to questions and comments from Park Board members concerning their organization's Dashboard report. Jenn DeLaughter, Southlake Girls Softball Association. Kristy Whitaker, Lady Dragon Lacrosse. Tom Cormandi, Miracle League Southlake. Chris Pendergrass, Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association. Justin Hibbs, Grapevine Southlake Soccer Association Trevor Tacker, Dragon Youth Baseball Association. 5B. SOUTHLAKE TENNIS CENTER Director Miller updated Park and Recreation Board with the Southlake Tennis Center dashboard and was available to answer questions. 5C. PARK FACILITY RENTALS Director Miller updated Park and Recreation Board with the Park Facility Rentals dashboard and was available to answer questions. 6. DISCUSSION 6A. YEAR 1 PICKLEBALL UPDATE Pickleball Manager Eric Clay provided an update on the Southlake Pickleball Complex's first year of operation and was available to answer questions. 6B. PARK AND RECREATION BOARD UPDATE Deputy Director Fince Espinoza gave a quick update on the new plan and organization chart of the Community Services Employees. 7.
