HONORS & RECOGNITION: A SALUTE TO FUTURE DEFENDERS Mayor McCaskill recognized the graduating High School seniors who have enrolled in a military academy or ROTC program with a proclamation and military challenge coin. Mr. Milan Georgia shared his words of encouragement with the graduates. Following the comments and proclamation, the Mayor and Council posed for a photo with the honorees. 4. PRESENTATION OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS Assistant City Manager Stacey Black presented the volunteer service awards to volunteers with exceptional service hours from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Talley expressed her appreciation to staff and students for their accomplishments. 6. CITY OF SOUTHLAKE MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE Mayor McCaskill provided an overview of how the City is observing Memorial Day this year. Mr. Milan Georgia spoke about the meaning of Memorial Day and Mayor McCaskill provided a proclamation honoring those who have sacrificed and paid the ultimate price to defend our country. The Mayor, Council, and Mr. Georgia commenced to do a wreath- laying ceremony followed by a moment of silence. 7. DISCUSS ALL ITEMS ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA.
