Dear Members of the Planning and Zoning Committee,
We hope this letter finds you well. My name is Dr. Shawna Sainnoval, and I am
the President of Clinical Operations at all of our Kidsville Pediatrics practice locations
along with Mrs. Rachel Thompson who is the President of Marketing & Growth. We
specialize in providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare to children,
including a significant and increasing number of patients with special needs.
We are writing to respectfully request a sign variance to allow the placement of
animal statues outside our building and answer 1-4 on the application. These statues
are not only decorative but serve a crucial role in enhancing the experience of our
young patients. Our practice is committed to creating a welcoming and comforting
environment for children, many of whom find visits to the doctor intimidating.
The presence of these animal statues outside our building has proven to be
extremely beneficial in our other locations, as shown in the attached photos. The
statues are strategically placed on each side of the front door and on the side of the
building where our employees enter. They serve multiple purposes:
1. Reducing Anxiety: The statues help in reducing the anxiety associated with
medical visits. Children are often excited to see the friendly animal figures, which
makes the prospect of visiting the doctor less frightening.
2. Engagement and Distraction: The statues provide a fun and engaging
distraction for children, particularly those with special needs, who may require
additional support to remain calm and comfortable.
3. Creating a Child-Friendly Environment: The statues contribute to a child-
friendly atmosphere, which aligns with our mission to provide a positive and
nurturing healthcare experience for all our patients. We believe that adding
artistic and child-friendly statues around our facility will greatly enhance the
aesthetic appeal of our surroundings and provide an additional source of delight
and distraction for the children and their families who visit us.
The statues are:
• Child-friendly and safe.
• Colorful and engaging, potentially featuring themes that resonate with children,
such as the animals shown.
• Durable and weather-resistant, suitable for outdoor placement throughout the
year. The statues are made of a hardened plastic.
We believe that these statues are a valuable addition to our practice and contribute
significantly to the well-being of our patients. Therefore, we kindly request your approval
for the sign variance to allow us to keep the statues onsite. Your consideration and
support in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and
attention to this request. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 682-868-1003 (dr.
Shawna) if you have any questions or require further information.
Sincerely,
Dr. Shawna Sainnoval & Mrs. Rachel Thompson
