ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING: August 29, 2024

Regular Session - City Council Chambers of Town Hall
Members Present: Board members: David Treichler - Vice Chairman, Clinton Snead - Place 1,
Heather King - Place 4, Frank Bernardo - Alternate 2, and Al Karmali - Alternate 4.
Members Absent: Board members: Jeff Medici— Chairman, Trey Verbick —Place 3, Jennifer
Gatz —Alternate 1, and Sridevi Vemulapalli —Alternate 3.
Staff Present: Jennifer Crosby, Deputy Directorof Planning and Denia Reyes, Board Secretary.
REGULAR SESSION:
1. Call to Order: Acting Chairman Treichler called the Regular Session to order at 6:32 P.M.
2. Executive Session: No executive session was held.
3. Approval of the Minutes: Acting Chairman Treichler opened the discussion of the minutes of
the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting for April 25, 2024.
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the Zoning Board of Adjustment for meetings
April 25, 2024.

Ayes: Snead, King, Bernardo, Karmali, Treichler
Nays: None
Abstain: None
Vote: 5-0-0
Motion: Approved
4. Administrative Comments: Jennifer Crosby, Deputy Director of Planning, announced that the
Sept. 121h meeting is canceled. Sept. 261h meeting still open for applications.
5. Consider: ZBA24-0006, Special Exception Use, per Ordinance No. 480, as amended,
Section 44.12(6) for a reduction in the required setback for a residential accessory
building or structure, on property described as Lot 5, Block 1, Timber Lake Section 1, an
addition to the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, and located at 108 Woodglen Ct.,
Southlake, Texas. Current Zoning: "RPUD" Residential Planned Unit Development. SPIN
Neighborhood #10. PUBLIC HEARING

Deputy Director of Planning Jennifer Crosby presented details of the case with a slide show
presentation to the Board.
The applicant, David Brillhart, 108 Woodglen Ct., Southlake, is requesting approval of a Special
Exception Use for a 288 square foot accessory structure.
David Brillhart, once sworn in, presented testimony, and answered questions from the Board.
Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak in
support of the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who
wished to speak in opposition to the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler closed the public hearing and opened the item for
discussion from the Board.
A motion was made to approve case ZBA24-0006

6. Consider: ZBA24-0007, Special Exception Use, per Ordinance No. 480, as amended,
Section 44.12(7) for an accessory building located forward of the principal building on the
lot, on property described as Lot 12, Block AR, Huntwick Estates, an addition to the City of
Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, and located at 805 Victoria Lane, Southlake, Texas. Current
Zoning: "Sf-IA" Single Family Residential District. SPIN Neighborhood #2. PUBLIC HEARING
Deputy Director of Planning Jennifer Crosby presented details of the case with a slide show
presentation to the Board.
The applicant, Mark Harris, 805 Victoria Lane, Southlake, is requesting approval of a Special
Exception Use, to allow an approximately 912 square foot detached garage forward of the
principal building (home) on the lot.
Mark Harris once sworn in, presented testimony, and answered questions from the Board.
Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak in
support of the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who
wished to speak in opposition to the request.
