WORK SESSION: 1. CALL TO ORDER. Work Session was called to order by Mayor Shawn McCaskill at 5:31pm. 2. INVOCATION: CLAYTON REED Mr. Clayton Reed provided the invocation. Mayor McCaskill led the pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags. 3. SOUTHLAKE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE UPDATE Southlake Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mark Guilbert updated the Council about upcoming events for the Chamber. 4. DISCUSS ESTABLISHING AN ADVISORY COMMISSION FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES City Manager Alison Ortowski introduced Director of Community Services David Miller who facilitated a discussion about an Advisory Commission for People with Disabilities. REGULAR SESSION: Immediately following the work session 1. CALL TO ORDER Regular Session was called to order by Mayor McCaskill at 5:58pm. 2A. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor McCaskill announced the City Council would go into Executive Session pursuant to the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, Section 551.071 consultation with city attorney; Section 551.074 deliberation regarding personnel matters; and Section 551.087 deliberation regarding economic development negotiations. The City Council adjourned for Executive Session at 5:51pm. Executive Session began at 6:09pm and concluded at 7:21pm. 2B. RECONVENE Mayor McCaskill reconvened the meeting at 7:25pm. 3. REPORTS: 3A. MAYOR’S REPORT Mayor McCaskill expressed his appreciation to City and CISD staff for a well-executed homecoming event, filled with community spirit, held on September 25. 3B. CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK UPDATE City Manager Alison Ortowski introduced Operations Manager Customer Relations Meldoy Andersen who provided an update regarding customer service week.
