SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL PRESENT: Chair Tamara McMillan, Vice Chair Leslie Walker, Secretary Julie Doyle, and Southlake Arts Council members Tim Sabo, Terri Messing, Alison Viktorin, and Susan Steinbrecher SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL ABSENT: Milan Georgia (Alt 1) STAFF PRESENT: Business Manager Milenka Lopez, Administrative Assistant Taygan McBurney CITY COUNCIL MEMBER PRESENT: Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Talley REGULAR SESSION 1. CALL TO ORDER Southlake Arts Council Chair Tamara McMillan called the meeting to order at 6.01 P.M. 2. PUBLIC FORUM Chair McMillan opened the Public Forum at 6.02 P.M. There being no one to speak, the Public Forum was closed at 6.02 P.M. 3. CONSENT AGENDA 3A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 25, 2024, SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING Chair Tamara McMillan presented item 3A, approval of the minutes from the June 25, 2024, Southlake Arts Council meeting. APPROVED A motion was made to approve the minutes from the June 25, 2024, Southlake Arts Council meeting as presented. CONSIDER Doyle, Messing, Viktorin, Steinbrecher, McMillan 5A. RECOMMENDATION OF APPROVAL FOR THE COMMUNITY SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH APEX ARTS LEAGUE FOR FY 25- FY 27. Business Manager Milenka Lopez presented the Community Services Agreement with APEX Arts League for FY 25- FY 27 and was available to answer questions. APPROVED A motion was made to recommend approval for the Community Services Agreement with APEX Arts league for FY 25- FY 27. RECOMMENDATION OF APPROVAL FOR THE COMMUNITY SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ARTS COUNCIL NORTHEAST FOR FY 25- FY 27. Business Manager Milenka Lopez presented the Community Services Agreement with Arts Council Northeast for FY 25- FY 27 and was available to answer questions. APPROVED A motion was made to recommend approval for the Community Services Agreement with Arts Council Northeast for FY 25- FY 27. RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE THE PROPOSED COMMERCIAL WALL MURAL FOR TOMMY BAHAMAS LOCATED AT 160 STREET C17 SOUTHLAKE, TX. Deputy Director of Planning and Development Services Jenny Crosby presented the proposed commercial wall mural for Tommy Bahamas and was available to answer questions. A representative from Tommy Bahamas, Cheryl Usnick, was also present and available to answer questions. APPROVED A motion was made to recommend approval for the mural to be put on only the back side of the building. DPS WEST ART UPDATE Business Manager Milenka Lopez presented an update on the DPS West Art project and was available to answer questions. Direction to Staff: NA. 6B. CELEBRATE SOUTHLAKE Business Manager Milenka Lopez presented an update on the Celebrate Southlake event and was available to answer questions. Direction to Staff: Keep the booth for the Celebrate Southlake event. 6C. FALL EXHIBIT UPDATE City of Southlake Values: Integrity Innovation Accountability Commitment to Excellence Teamwork Minutes of the August 27, 2024 Southlake Arts Council Meeting Page 4 of 4 Business Manager Milenka Lopez presented an update on the Fall Exhibit event and was available to answer questions. Direction to Staff: NA. 6E. PUBLIC ARTS UPDATE Business Manager Milenka Lopez stated that there were no additional Public Arts Updates and was available to answer questions. Direction to Staff: NA. 6F. APEX UPDATES Arts Council Member and APEX Chair Terri Messing gave an update on the 2024- 2025 APEX events calendar. She stated that the DSO truck event has been canceled due to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra cutting the truck from their budget. 7. ADJOURNMENT Southlake Arts Council Chair McMillan adjourned the meeting at 7.05 P.M.
