Chair Magdalena Battles called the regular Parks and Recreation Board meeting to order
at 6:00 p.m.
2. CONSENT AGENDA
2A. APPROVE MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
MEETING HELD AUGUST 12, 2024
The minutes of the August 12, 2024, regular Parks and Recreation Board meeting were
approved with no changes or corrections.
Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine and are enacted with one motion by
the Board.
APPROVED
A motion was made to approve the Consent items, including the minutes of the regular
Park Board meeting held on August 12, 2024.

Chair Battles opened Public Forum at 6:02 p.m. There being no one to speak, Chair
Battles closed Public Forum at 6:02 p.m.
4. CONSIDER
4A. RECOMMENDATION ON PROPOSED SPDC MATCHING FUNDS REQUEST FROM
GRAPEVINE SOUTHLATE SOCCER ASSOCIATION (GSSA) FOR THE PURCHASE
OF SOCCER GOALS TO BE UTLIZED AT BOB JONES PARK
Director Miller presented item 4A to the Park Board for consideration. The Board
discussed interest in the proposed SPDC matching funds request from GSSA.
APPROVED
A motion was made to approve the SPDC Matching funds request from GSSA for the
purchase of soccer goals to be utilized at Bob Jones Park.

Recreation Board's Strategic Priorities. Director Miller was available to answer
questions.

Director Miller provided an update on the successful DFW 6-pack update and
mentioned the event hosted was the largest hosted city event in history.
