From: Krisne Kemp Sent: Tuesday, June 4, 2024 2:45 PM To: Mayor and City Council <mayorandcitycouncil@cityofsouthlake.com> Subject: Project on Brumlow Ave Dear Mayor McCaskill and City Council, I'm writing to let you know that my family and I are opposed to the proposed Continental Blvd Brumlow development. We live on Brumlow Avenue and do NOT want any large development. The Public Works building has already been approved and will increase traffic and congestion to Brumlow Avenue and Continental Blvd, both are which only 2 lanes. A large development like the proposed one will increase traffic and cause increased congestion. During school drop off/pick up hours and during rush hour, traffic moving west on Continental toward the Brumlow round-a-bout backs up past Crooked Lane. A development on that corner will only make things worse. In addition, both Continental and Brumlow are only 2 lanes. There's no way these streets can handle another large development. There is so much traffic that comes from 26 onto Brumlow already. And during business hours, the landscaping trucks and commercial rigs that are coming in and out of Site One (formerly Alpine Materials) get backed up almost to the 26 & Pool 6/4/24, 3 31 PM Mail Morgan Barclay Outlook https //outlook office com/mail/inbox/id/AAQkADZiMTZhYzFiLTNjZWYtNGM3Mi1hYTk3LTMxMDc5Mzc4YmFlMwAQAOMyfovzZTNCiBvSuWPCl%2F 1/2 light. And commuter traffic heading south on Brumlow to the 26 & Pool light, gets backed up past Site One. I would like to see further, more thorough, studies on what it will do regarding runoff, and the pipe that runs under Continental currently (what is it?). Rumor has it that the developer is cutting corners and that concerns us greatly. Thank you for your time and consideration. We would like you to vote no on the proposed development.
