ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING: March 28, 2024

Regular Session - City Council Chambers of Town Hall
Members Present: Board members: David Treichler - Vice Chairman, Clinton Snead — Place
1, Trey Verbick - Place 3, Frank Bernardo - Alternate 2, and Sridevi Vermulapalli - Alternate 3.
Members Absent: Board members: Jeff Medici - Chairman, Heather King- Place 4, Jennifer
Getz- Alternate 1, and Al Karmali — Alternate 4.
Staff Present: Reagan Rothenberger, Planning Manager, Jennifer Crosby, Deputy Director of
Planning and Denia Reyes, Board Secretary.
WORK SESSION:
1. Call to Order: Vice Chairman Treichler called the work session to order at 6:15 P.M.
2. Administrative Comments.
3. Discussed the City of Southlake zoning notification process.
4. Discuss potential amendments to the Zoning Board of Adjustment Rules of Procedure
in relation to the adopted Boards and Commissions Ordinance (Ord. No. 12288).
5. Work Session Adjournment: 6:30 P.M.
REGULAR SESSION:
1. Call to Order: Vice Chairman Treichler called the Regular Session to order at 6:35 P.M.
2. Executive Session: No executive session was held.
3. Approval of the Minutes: Vice Chairman Treichler opened the discussion of the minutes of
the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting for February 15, 2024.
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the Zoning Board of Adjustment for meetings
February 15, 2024.

6. Consider: ZBA24-0004, Variance to Zoning Ordinance No. 480, as amended,
Sections 39.3(e) requiring a screening device not exceeding eight (8) feet in height,
on property described as Lot 2R1, Block 1, Bull Run Lakes Addition, an addition to the City
of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, and located at 710 S. White Chapel Blvd., Southlake,
Tarrant County, Texas. Current Zoning: "SF-1A' Single Family Residential District. SPIN
District #10 PUBLIC HEARING
Planner Rothenberger presented details of the case with a slide show presentation to the Board.
The applicant, Eason Maykus with Maykus Homes representing the homeowners' requests
permission to permit a fence up to fourteen (14) feet in height between the two properties of Bull
Run Lakes Estates. The applicant states that the installation of a fence would provide improved
buffering due to topographical changes between the subject property and the east property of
the addition.
The applicant, Eason Maykus, once sworn in, presented testimony, and answered questions from
the Board.
Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak in
support of the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who
wished to speak in opposition to the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler closed the public hearing and opened the item for
discussion from the Board.
