To: Alison Ortowski, City Manager
From: Amy Shelley, City Secretary
Subject: Resolution No. 24-017, appointing representatives to the Audit Committee,
Southlake Parks Development Corporation, and the Corridor Planning
Committee.
Action
Requested: Appoint representatives to the Audit Committee, Southlake Parks
Development Corporation, and the Corridor Planning Committee as
a result of the May 4, 2024 uncontested General Election.
Background
Information: Several of the Southlake Boards and Commissions include City
Council appointees/representation. All board/commission member
terms are two years, unless the member is appointed to fulfill a
vacancy. During their tenure, Council members are appointed and
served on various boards/committees. Invariably board/commission
terms do not correspond with the elected official’s term in office. As
a result, outgoing Council members create vacancies within
boards/commissions.
Relative to the Corridor Planning Committee, the City Council has
made ex-officio appointments in the past, such as former City
Council members.
Currently, the following members serve on those committees:
Audit Committee Term
Mayor John Huffman June 2024
Mayor Pro Tem Shawn McCaskill June 2024
Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Talley June 2024
