City 18 Manager-Operations and Robert Finn, Chief of Police 19 20 REGULAR SESSION 21 22 Agenda Item No. 1. Call to Order - The meeting was called to order by Chair Slocum at 23 6:00 p.m. A quorum was present. 24 25 Agenda Item No. 3A. Consider: Recommendation to approve the Site Plan and Concept 26 Plan for Safety Town 27 28 Construction Manager Peter Kao presented information about the development of 29 Safety Town. Background information and childhood injuries/death statistics were 30 provided. Features of the site and concept plans for Safety Town were explained in 31 detail. The location of Safety Town has been relocated from Bicentennial Park to DPS 32 West site as presented on the concept plan. 33 34 Chair Slocum opened Public Forum. 35 36 Dianne Dorman, Southlake parent and member of the Carroll Education Foundation 37 Board, asked questions of the Board about Safety Town's maximum capacity, storefront 38 displays, signage limitations, maintenance and funding. 39 40 Public Forum was closed. 41 42 The Board discussed the plans and operations of the proposed Safety Town. City 2 Manager-Operations and Robert Finn, Chief of Police, responded to questions from the 3 Board. 4 5 A motion was made to recommend to approve the Site Plan, moving it from Bicentennial 6 Park over to Randol Mill and 1709 (the DPS land that's vacant) and the Concept Plan 7 for Safety Town. 8 Motion: Berman 9 Second: Cox 10 Ayes: Adams, Berman, Cox, Goodman, Packer and Slocum 11 Nays: None 12 Abstention: None 13 Vote: 6-0 14 Motion carried. 15 16 Agenda Item No. 4.
