1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Magdalena Battles called the regular Parks and Recreation Board meeting to order
at 6.00 p.m.
2. CONSENT AGENDA
2A. APPROVE MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 12, 2024
The minutes of the February 12, 2024, regular Parks and Recreation Board meeting were
approved with no changes or corrections.
Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine and are enacted with one motion by
the Board.
APPROVED
A motion was made to approve the Consent items, including the minutes of the regular
Park Board meeting held February 12, 2024.

3. PUBLIC FORUM
Chair Battles opened Public Forum at 6:01 p.m. There being no one to speak, Chair
Battles closed Public Forum at 6:01 p.m.
4. REPORTS
4A. SOUTHLAKE YOUTH ASSOCIATIONS
The Park Board received dashboard reports in their meeting packet for the Southlake
Girls Softball Association, Lady Dragon Lacrosse, Miracle League Southlake, Southlake
Carroll Lacrosse Association, Grapevine Southlake Soccer Association, Dragon Youth
Football Association, and Dragon Youth Baseball Association.
Representatives from Southlake's youth athletic associations were present to respond to
questions and comments from Park Board members concerning their organization's
Dashboard report.

Southlake Tennis Center Manager Mia Gordon-Poorman presented the Southlake Tennis
Center Dashboard report to the Board and was available to answer questions.
4C. PARK FACILITY RENTALS
Director of Community Services David Miller presented the Park Facility Rentals
Dashboard report to the Board and was available to answer questions.
5. DISCUSSION
5A. PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD WORK PLAN
Director of Community Services David Miller provided an update on building a Parks
and Recreation Board Workplan and was available to answer questions. Director Miller
stated a draft of the work plan would be brought back to the Park Board at the next
meeting.
5B. PICKLEBALL FACILITY OPENING UPDATE
Director of Community Services David Miller provided an update on the opening date
and ribbon cutting date for the Pickleball Facility and was available to answer questions.
He also mentioned the possibility of hosting a larger family day celebration at a later
date.
5C. TURF PROJECT UPDATE
Director of Community Services David Miller provided an update on the upcoming Turf
Project and was available to answer questions.
5D. PARKS AND RECREATION UPDATE
Director Miller presented the park and recreation update and was available to answer
questions.
5E. MARCH 2O24 MEETING DATE
Director Miller proposed to change the March meeting to March 18 to accommodate CISD
Spring Break and was available to answer questions.
6. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Magdalena Battles adjourned the meeting at 7:46 p.m.
