Agenda Item No. 1, Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 1:16 p.m.
Agenda Item No. 2 Approval of the 11-13-01 Minutes:
Cleta moved and David seconded the motion to approve the minutes. They were approved
unanimously.
Agenda Item No. 3 Metroport Meals on Wheels (MMOW):
Linda passed out the MMOW report for November. Attendance keeps growing and the meals are
very good. The Tuesday program has become a very enjoyable time for the seniors at the center.
Agenda Item No. 4 Administrative Comments:
The Senior Activity Center Open House was held on Thursday, December 6"' with approximately
57 in attendance. Four baskets were raffled off. Many City employees came to the Open House.
It would have been nice to have had more seniors in attendance.
Mr. McGough, Aquatics Director, has invited the Senior Advisory Commission to visit the
Aquatics Center on January $t' at 1:30 PM. This will take the place of our regular meeting. Mr.
McGough is anxious to give a tour of the center and discuss the opportunities that are available
for seniors at the pool.
A copy of the memorial fund guidelines was distributed and everyone agreed it covered
everything.
Agenda Item No. 5 Southlake Senior Activities
Tom highlighted the activities of the center for last month including the sing-a-long, music lovers
and the Open House. In addition, Tom reported on the finances of the Southlake Seniors.
Agenda Item No. 6 Open Forum
Bill Kyle reported on the Cell Phone 911 Project. The initial training and distribution originally
set for Thursday, December 6th has been moved to Tuesday, January 29th following lunch.
Announcements will be made at the Tuesday luncheons and reminder calls will be made as well.
David highlighted activities around town beginning with a zoning change that would allow alcohol
(beer) sold across from the Carroll High School. There is a SPIN meeting tonight at Town Hall
for further discussion and input on this matter.
Also discussed, were the council places and the school board positions, which will be coming
available next year.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:45 PM.
