Requested: Approve an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with Tarrant County for
shared costs associated with the repaving of Sunshine Lane in an
amount not to exceed $200,000.
Background
Information: As part of the annual Capital Improvements Program (CIP), City
Council authorizes annual funds for joint roadway rehabilitation
projects with Tarrant County. For FY 2024, City staff will partner with
Tarrant County to resurface Sunshine Lane as one of the projects for
this year.
As part of this partnership, Tarrant County will provide the labor and
heavy equipment, while Southlake will provide materials, pay for half
the fuel costs, schedule to mill the roadway, provide traffic control,
and perform striping as needed.
This project is scheduled to begin in July to minimize the impact on
commuters and traffic. Furthermore, Tarrant County and the City
have agreed to the working hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily to
avoid peak travel times. Work is expected to be complete before
August 16, 2024, weather permitting.
Tarrant County has provided similar services on previous projects
such as Shady Oaks Drive, E. Continental Boulevard, Crooked Lane,
N. Carroll Avenue, Sam Bass Ridge Road, and last year’s project of
Jellico Circle.
