Agenda Item No. 1: Call To Order - Chair Jeane Alexander called the meeting to order at
1:15 p.m.
Afienda Item No. 2: Approval of the Senior Advisory Commission meeting minutes of
September 13, 2005.
A motion was made to accept the September 13, 2005 meeting minutes as presented.

Agenda Item No. 4. Report: Southlake Senior Activities (Dorothy Cosgrove)
The Steering Committee has been working on the Senior Center Fall Festival planned
November 5, 10:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $5. Volunteers are needed.
Agenda Item No. 5. Report: Metroport Meals on Wheels (Mary King/Lynn Reed)
Mary King distributed the September MMOW statistical report showing 309 meals were
served. She thanked members for doing an incredible job.
MMOW 1s trying to coordinate a delivery from Krispie Kreme donut shop to the center
on Monday mornings, but there are still a few issues to be resolved.

Lynn Reed is making contacts to have some soldiers come the first week in November in
conjunction with the Veterans Day event.
MMOW recently hosted a group dinner and there were representatives from all the senior
centers MMOW works with. Dinners are being planned for late May and early September
with specific information to be announced.
Southlake Rotary Club has adopted the Southlake Senior Center and will bring Bingo
prizes once a month. If members have any suggestions of the prizes they would like to
receive, please let Mary King or Lynn Reed know.
Agenda Item No. 3. Report: CARS (Josh Weiser)
CARS representative Josh Weiser presented the CARS statistical report for September
2005. The report showed three "Trip Requests Not Filled." CARS is transitioning to a
new office manager, which seems to be working well.
Agenda Item No. 6. Administrative Comments:
A. Update on Senior Center Painting Project - A senior center "Extreme
Make-Over Day" is scheduled for Friday, October 21, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00
p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and desserts will be provided by the
City with Metroport Meals on Wheels handling the cooking. City staff will
be working with about 15 Southlake Rotary Club members.
B. Selection of Interior Paint Colors - Margie Kyle distributed paint color
samples to commission members and asked them to select their color
preference. The color selections were: Cr6me Sash, Pacific Pine, Fortune
Teller, and Honey White.
Agenda Item No. 7. Consider: Establishment of Senior Activity Center Improvements
Exploration Committee
This item was to allow the formal appointment of interested seniors to an ad-hoc
committee which will organize senior citizens in support of improvements to the Senior
Center and expediting those improvements which are currently proposed in the 2008-09
budget year. The committee will work on formulating a vision/plan, to identify the
needed improvements, seek additional funding/in-kind contributions/sponsorships and
then to work on having the projects expedited within the City's budget system.
Mr. Baltimore has had a volunteer, Mr. Simmons, offer to provide the architectural
requirements for the project.
A motion was made to table this discussion until more information can be provided
to make a decision.

Agenda Item No. 8: Open Forum
Chairman Alexander opened the Public Forum.
Kim Edmonds, SAC coordinator, asked for volunteers to assist with the set-up,
decoration, food items and to supervise activities at the Senior Center Fall Festival
November 5`h. Anyone interested, please contact Kim.
Public Forum was closed.
Agenda Item No. 9: Adjournment
A unanimous motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 1:57 p.m.
