EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY: Public Storage is requesting approval of variances to Sign Ordinance No.
704, as amended, for an attached upper story non -illuminated sign at their
storage building located at 950 S. Kimball Ave., Southlake TX, 76092.
DETAILS: The property is located on the southeast corner of E. Continental Blvd and
S. Kimball Ave. Public Storage is requesting approval of an attached, non -
illuminated upper story building sign. The variance requests specifically
pertain to the placement of upper -story signage, letter height, and the
minimum depth for sign letters as outlined in Sign Ordinance No. 704, as
amended.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
APPLICANT/OWNER: Barnett Signs/ Public Storage
PROPERTY SITUATION: 950 S Kimball Ave
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 3R5R1 R, Green Meadow Addition
CURRENT ZONING: "I-1" Light Industrial District
HISTORY: The Dragon Storage site development was administratively
approved under a vested right for the Green Meadow subdivision in
2011.
A Plat Revision was approved for Lot3R12 to accommodate the
Dragon Storage development February 21, 2012 (ZA11-069).
Sign permits for the attached building sign and monument sign were
issued for Dragon Storage in March 2012.
An attached upper story sign was approved for Simply Self Storage
in October 2019.
SIGN BOARD: March 7, 2024: Approved (5-0), noting approval of SV24-0001
subject to the staff report dated March 1, 2024.
CITY COUNCIL:
STAFF COMMENTS: City Council approval of the request does not eliminate the
requirement for a sign application submittal prior to sign installation.
