Item 4E - MemoCITY OF SOUTH LAKE MEMORANDUM (March 19, 2024) To: Alison Ortowski, City Manager From: Rob Cohen, Director of Public Works Item 4E Subject: Approve an Encroachment and Joint Use Agreement for a retaining wall within the utility easement being located at 2105 W Southlake Blvd. Action Requested: Approve an Encroachment and Joint Use Agreement for a retaining wall within the utility easement being located at 2105 W Southlake Blvd. Background Information: The Developer of 2105 W. Southlake Blvd. is requesting to construct a retaining wall within a utility easement located along the east side of the property. There is a 6-inch city water main within the utility easement. The purpose of this item is to seek City Council approval of an Encroachment and Joint Use Agreement for the installation of a retaining wall within the utility easement at 2105 W Southlake Blvd. This agreement will allow the developer to place a retaining wall for a proposed patio within the utility easement. The placement of the retaining wall will allow for the minimum required separation distance away from the 6-inch city water main. All franchise utilities have approved the encroachment. Staff is requesting City Council to consider the proposed utility easement encroachment for the proposed improvement to the development at 2105 W.
