PROPERTY SITUATION: The property is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of North White Chapel Blvd. and Bob Jones Road. LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Tracts 1, 2, 10 and 11, M. Mahaffey Survey, Abstract No. 916; Tracts 3, 4, 5 and 5A, R.D. Price Survey, Abstract No. 1003; Tracts 2 and 3, H. Throop Survey, Abstract No. 1273; and all of the vacated West Beach Addition, altogether being approximately 200 acres. LAND USE CATEGORY: Public Parks/Open Space CURRENT ZONING: “AG” Agricultural District HISTORY: -A site plan and preliminary plat for Bob Jones Park was approved by City Council on August 15, 2000. STAFF COMMENTS: The following improvements are being presented for approval:  Concession stand / restroom facility: This structure will be located between the 2 large softball fields and the 4 smaller softball fields. It is similar to the existing concession / restroom facility adjacent to the soccer fields.  Shade structures: o A large shade structure is proposed over the playground located at the center of the 4 smaller softball fields. o Shade structures are proposed over all the bleachers for all six softball fields.  Batting cages: Four batting cages, similar to those found at Bicentennial Park, will be located between the 4 smaller softball fields.  perimeter fencing of the fields and scoreboards  Ball field lighting Attached is Site Plan Review Summary No. 1, dated August 15, 2003. The review is limited to only changes proposed under this application. This site is subject to all requirements and conditions of the original Site Plan approval unless specifically approved otherwise.
