P ROJECT: Specific Use Permit to allow a tent sale at 325 Commerce Street
REQUEST: On behalf of Ram Interest, L.P., International Development Corp. is requesting
approval of a specific use permit to allow a tent for the purpose of promoting retail
sales. The applicant is requesting a tent for their semi-annual 3-day tent sale. The
tent is proposed to be approximately 4,000 square feet and is to be set up on Monday,
April 11 in order to begin loading products and setting up for the event. The sale
will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 14, and last through 5:00 p.m. on
Saturday, April 16. The remaining merchandise after the sale will be emptied from
the tent Saturday evening and the tent will be taken down on Monday, April 18. The
hours of operation for the three days of the sale will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
each day. The tent is proposed to be located in the front truck loading area and will
not reduce the number of parking spaces on site or the effectiveness of landscaped
areas within the site. A tent permit application is required to be filled out and
approved by the Building Services Department showing that the tent will meet
current building and fire codes.

STAFF COMMENTS: Due to the limited scope of this request, no new review letter was generated.
The applicant is requesting to have a tent for the purpose of promoting retail
sales for the period of April 11 through April 18. The actual sale will be for
three days from April 14 through April 16. A narrative with photos of the
event and a site exhibit showing the location of the tent has been provided as
