1. Call to Order— Meeting was called to order at 4:17 PM by Milenka Lopez.
2. Consent
A. Approve the minutes from the Southlake Youth Action Commission meeting
held May 8, 2023- Motion to approve the minutes with no corrections was
made by Srishthi Das and seconded by Annika Rao. Motion carried (4-0).
3. Discussion
A. Staff and Student Introductions -
Each member of SYAC introduced themselves.
Direction to Staff- None.
B. Expectations and Bylaws Review —
Assistant to the Director, Milenka Lopez introduced the general SYAC bylaws
and expectations for meetings.
Direction to Staff- None.
C. 2023-2024 Activities -
Assistant to the Director, Milenka Lopez introduced the year's schedule and

activities and the year's plans.
Direction to Staff- None.
D. Guest Speaker and Activity: Community Events Planning with Festivals and
Events Coordinator, Dylan Duque -
Mr. Duque was unable to attend the meeting. Assistant to the Director
Milenka Lopez presented the activities that Southlake's event planners do
and how the plans are executed successfully.
After the presentation, SYAC members conducted an event planning activity
for the Kids' Zone at Home for the Holidays, including coming up with booth
activities and making a supply list within the established budget.
Direction to Staff- Order supplies for Home for the Holidays.
4. Adjournment — Kanha Jain adjourned the meeting at 5:56 p.m.
