Mayor John Huffman led the pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags. 3. SISTER CITIES TOME EXCHANGE UPDATE Deputy City Secretary Veronica Lomas introduced the Southlake Sister Cities Youth Ambassadors Alison Bedwell and Kate Ponzo, who provided an update to the City Council about the June 2023 Tome trip. 4. SOUTHLAKE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE UPDATE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES, SEPTEMBER 19, 2023 Page I of 11 Southlake Chamber of Commerce Incoming Chair Kush Rao provided the Chamber update. 5. DISCUSS ALL ITEMS ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA. NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AND EACH ITEM WILL BE CONSIDERED DURING THE REGULAR SESSION. Mayor Huffman reviewed the items on the consent agenda. REGULAR SESSION: Immediately following the work session CALL TO ORDER Regular Session was called to order by Mayor Huffman at 5:52pm. 2A. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Huffman announced the City Council would go into Executive Session pursuant to the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, Section 551.071 consultation with city attorney; Section 551.072 deliberation regarding real property; and Section 551.087 deliberation regarding economic development negotiations. City Council adjourned for Executive Session at 5:52pm. Executive Session began at 6:11 pm and concluded at 7:06pm. 2B. RECONVENE Mayor Huffman reconvened the meeting at 7:14pm. 3. REPORTS: 3A. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Huffman invited everyone to attend the State of the City scheduled for Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 5:30pm at The Marq. 3B. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT 3B1. CHRIS TRIBBLE RETIREMENT City Manager Shana Yelverton spoke about Mr. Tribble's retirement and this 17-year tenure with the City. The Mayor and Council expressed their appreciation for his service to the City and wished him well in his retirement. Mr. Tribble expressed his appreciation to the Mayor and Council, Mrs. Yelverton and the Executive Leadership Team for allowing him to serve the wonderful community of Southlake. 3B2.
