Yelverton, City Manager From: Michael Starr, Fire Chief Subject: Item 4F Approve Contract Award for Emergency Bulk Water Drinking Services with Lipsey Trucking Company Action Requested: Approve a new contract for disaster -related emergency bulk water drinking services with Lipsey Trucking Company. Background Information: The City released a request for proposal in March 2023 and received three (3) submissions and one with no intent. The contract provides bulk water drinking services in emergency situations. Bulk water is trucked -in potable drinking water that is used to help supplement the public water system (PWS) by distributing bulk water or bottled water during a water emergency. Bulk water is a short-term solution for PWSs and may be necessitated by a drought or another water shortage to ensure that water customers still have access to clean water for drinking and sanitation purposes. Financial Consideration: This contract will be utilized on an "as needed" basis. In the event this contract is needed, staff will prepare a funding plan and seek authorization from the city council at that time.
