WORK SESSION:
1. CALL TO ORDER: 6:00 P.M.
2. Executive Session: Pursuant to the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code,
Sections 551.071. Refer to posted list attached hereto and incorporate herein. Executive Session
may be held, under these exceptions, at the end of the Regular Session or at any time during
the meeting that a need arises for the Planning and Zoning Commission to seek advice from
the City Attorney as to the posted subject matter of this Planning and Zoning Commission
meeting. Section 551.071: Consultation with attorney.
No Executive Session was held.
3. Recap of the City Council’s action and discussion on Planning & Zoning recommended cases.

COMMISSION MEETING HELD ON August 3, 2023.

Planning Manager of Planning and Zoning Reagan Rothenberger provided a brief overview
of item number 6 per Chairman Kubiak’s request.
The applicant – John Terrell, 161 Summit Avenue Suite 200, Southlake, TX. 76092.
Questions were asked.
Chairman Kubiak opened the public hearing and seeing no one close the public hearing.
A motion was made to approve item number 6, ZA23-0045, subject to the staff report dated
August 11, 2023. Also subject to Development Plan Review Summary number 2 dated
August 11, 2023, noting approval of the variance requested with respect to the street

connections and noting that with respect to Zoning Revision number 4 the applicant has
agreed that there will be an optional retention and detention pond that will act as a retention
pond meaning that there will be water in it at all times. Also noting with respect to the hotel
that’s going to go in the project that the applicant, although it would typically occur in the
zoning process stage the applicant has agreed to address that either at site plan stage or
before in terms of the details of the quality of the hotel things that would normally be
addressed at zoning.

Zoning Commission meeting. Applicant is requesting to table the item until the
September 7, 2023 meeting.)
