ITEM #7 DISCUSSION – Review, discuss and make recommendations for proposed
revisions to the Feedstore BBQ site on approximately 2.15 acres located at 520 and
530 S. White Chapel Blvd.
Staff presentation: Dennis Killough
• Future Land Use – Low Density Residential
• Zoning – SF-30 and S-P-1
• Concept Plan
o Gate to neighboring property
o Storage
o Caretakers Quarters
o Shade structures added to picnic tables.
Questions for staff by the Committee:
Shawn McCaskill: For the shade structures, do we have any requirements on what
types of materials are used? I'd love to see something match the existing building or
barn/metal materials.
Dennis Killough: Where the property is located and recent legislation passed, they can
use any material adopted within one of our last 3 international building code cycles. As
a site plan district zoning, I believe they would be willing to work with P&Z and City
Council on whatever is most suitable for the restaurant.
Kathy Talley: A shade structure is a great idea, especially for people who sit outside
and eat when its hot.
Austin Reynolds: Echo Councilmember McCaskill’s comments. I like the idea.
Michael Springer: Any changes to the residence? Or strictly a zoning change?
Dennis Killough: I would ask the applicants be more specific with this, but it is my
belief that they want to zone everything as it is situated and make it a legal conforming
structure for this site.
Applicant Presentation: Curtis Young
• We talked about matching the building materials to the awning for shade
structures.
Questions for Applicant by the Committee:
