WORK SESSION:
Call to Order: Acting Chairman Treichler called the work Session to order at 6:00 P.M.
2. Discussion of the Board's preferences as it relates to reports and information provided
by staff.
3. Adjournment: Acting Chairman Treichler adjourned the Work Session at 6:27 P.M.
REGULAR SESSION:
1. Call to Order: Acting Chairman Treichler called the Regular Session to order at 6:31 P.M.
2. Executive Session: No executive session was held.
3. Approval of the Minutes: Acting Chairman Treichler opened the discussion of the minutes of
the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting held on April 27, 2023.
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting held on
April 27, 2023.

4. Administrative Comments: Reagan Rothenberger, Planning Manager, announced that the
next scheduled meeting is on June 29, 2023.

5. Consider: ZBA23-0009, Special Exception Use, per Ordinance No. 480, as amended,
Section 44.12(6) for a reduction to the required setback for a residential accessory
structure on a property described as Lot 29, Block 9, Carillon Lakes Phase SA, an addition to
the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, and located at 901 La Salle Lane, Southlake,
Tarrant County, Texas. Current Zoning: "ECZ' Employment Center Zoning District. PUBLIC
HEARING This item was tabled at the May 25, 2023, regular Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting.
A motion was made to table case ZBA23-0009 to the June 29, 2023, meeting.

6. Consider: ZBA23-0010, Variance to Ordinance No. 480, as amended, Section 39.5(c)(4)
requiring a wood fence to have masonry columns along a collector road on a property
described as Lot 12, Block 2, Continental Park Estates Addition, an addition to the City of
Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, and located at 1201 Scenic Drive, Southlake, Tarrant County,
Texas. Current Zoning: "SF-20B" Single Family Residential District. SPIN District #10 PUBLIC
HEARING
Planner Rothenberger presented details of the case with a slide show presentation to the Board.
The applicant, Dwayne Myers, is requesting approval of a Variance to Ordinance No. 480, as
amended, Section 39.5(c)(4), which outlines the requirements of residential fencing adjacent to
collector or arterial roads. The applicant is proposing to construct a new board on board fence
without the required masonry columns.
The applicants, Dwayne Myers, once sworn in, presented testimony, and answered questions
from the board.
Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak in
support of the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who
wished to speak in opposition to the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler closed the public hearing and opened the item for
discussion from the Board.

7. Consider: ZBA23-0011, Variance to Ordinance No. 480, as amended, Section 15.1 &
14.5(c) requiring a side yard setback of no less than fifteen (15) feet on a property described
as Lot 14R, Block 3, Summer Place Addition, an addition to the City of Southlake, Tarrant County,
Texas, and located at 317 Dove Creek Trail, Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas. Current Zoning:
"SF-20B" Single Family Residential District. SPIN District #7 PUBLIC HEARING
Planner Rothenberger presented details of the case with a slide show presentation to the Board.
The applicants, Alisha Poonawala and Ahmad Jivraj are requesting approval of a Variance to
Ordinance No. 480, as amended, Section 15.1 & 14.5(c) which requires a side yard of 15' for
primary structures. The existing home was constructed under previous zoning standards ("A-
1" One -Family District which permitted a 5' side yard setback) and currently has an
approximate 10' setback from the south property boundary, and a 12' setback from
the north property boundary.
The applicants, Alisha Poonawala and Ahmad Jivraj, once sworn in, presented testimony, and
answered questions from the board.
Acting Chairman Treichler asked if there were those in the audience who wished to speak in
support of the request.
There being none, Acting Chairman Treichler closed the public hearing and opened the item for
discussion from the Board.
