1961-017 Resolutionf RESOLUTION N0, 17 WHEREAS, on the 4th day of April, 1961, pursuant to the provisions of Title 28, Chapter 2 of the 1925 Revised Civil Statutes, the Election Code of the State of Texas, and Resolution No. 16, heretofore adopted on the,( day of � Z , 1961, after due notice as by law provided, the general election 'to elect a mayor and two councilmen for a term of two years was held within the limits of said Town; and WHEREAS on theIVAday of April, 1961, at a meeting of the Town Council, the results of said election were canvassed by the Mayor in the presence of the Town Council and said canvass showed the results thereof was as follows: FOR MAYOR John M. Stevenson Eli F. Depew 121 Votes 64 Votes FOR COUNCILMAN PLACE 1 Wade C. Cummings J. Judson Joyce 119 Votes 65 Votes FOR COUNCILMAN PLACE 2 J. J. Carlile T. Calvin Carney 126 Votes 58 Votes THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE,TEXAS; THAT, the canvass of the results of said election, be and is here- by approved, and that John M. Stevenson, Wade C. Cummings and J. J. Carlile having received the highest number of votes for Mayor, Council- man Place 1 and 2, are hereby elected to said respective offices and are to serve as such officers for a term of two years or until their succ- essors are duly elected and qualified.
