1959-013RESOLUTION NO. 13 WHERF'LS, on tho 7th. day of Aprils A. D. 19599 pursuant to the provisions of Title 28, Chapter 2 of the 192$ Revised Civil Statutes, the Election Code of the State of Texas, and Resolution No. 12$ ikhorstofore adopted on the day of February, -No D. 19S9., after due notice as by law provided$ the general election to elect a Mayor and Two Councilmen for a torr$ of two years and oue Councilintm for a term of one year was hold within the limits of the Town of Southlake, Texas; and WHEREAS, on this day at a regular meeting of the Town Council of said Town, the results of said Election were canvassed by the Mayor in tho presence of the Town Council and said canvass showed the result thereof was as follows t FOR MAYOR John M. Stevenson 108 Votes Ray Austin 89 Votes FOR COUNCIL 4AN PLACE Onqo, J. J. Carlile 105 Votes C. W. Banks 94 dotes FOR COUNCILMAN PIACE TWO W. C. Cummings 102 Votes C. W. (Bill Long) 96 'Votes FOR COUNCILMAN PLACE THREE Gus T. Halbert 101 Votes Paul L, Schell 93 Votes THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY T11E TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: THAT$ the canvass of the result of said election, be and is hereby approved$ and that John H. Stevenson having received the highest number of votes for the office of ]Mayor and J. J. Carlile and W. C. Cummings having received the highest number of votes for Councilmen* Places No. 1 and 2 respectively„ be and are hereby declared elected to such respective offices for a term of two years or until their successors are duly elected and qualified. THAT Gus T. Halbert having received the highest number of votes for office of Councilman, Place 3 respectively$ be and is hereby declared elected- to such respective office for a term of one year or until his successor is duly elected and qualified.
