WHEREAS, the City Council of the Town of Southlake, Texas
Jhas been pre sented with a petition concerning the termination of
the services of the City Marshall., and
WHEREAS, the City Council has had brought before it in-
sufficient formal: evidence endeavoring to substantiate the
claims set forth in the petition, and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the petition
undoubtedly indicates the existence of a disturbing condition
affecting certain of the Citizens, and
WHEREAS, the Council further recognizes and appreciates the
rights of the Citizens to bring before the City Government whatever
problems and complaints they may have, but does not believe that
the uninformed condition of the average citizen al -Lows him the
ability to determine in detail, exactly how such problems are to
be resolved, anti
WHEREAS, the Council immediately undertook measures to
alleviate the conditions under complaint as soon as it became
aware of such conditions, and even before said petition was
received, and
WHEREAS, the Council feels that a large number of citizens
whose names appear on the..petition were not aware of any factual
` evidence substantiating claims set forth therein, but were possibly
misled by exaggerated statements of a relatively few enthusiastic
citizens.
THEREFORE., the City Council of the Town of Southlake hereby
resolves that no action will be taken concerning the petition
in question until such time as more citizens who feel they have
sustained injustice or injury- bring before the City Council
some statement or evidence which can serve to inform the Council
of individual cases.
BE IT further resolved that this resolution be duly
pub l d in the official manner.
