1957-005RESOLUTION NO. 5 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No, 4, adopted by the Town Council at its regular meeting held on August 10, 1957, after due notice as by low pro- vided, a special election to elect one Councilman to fill the unexpired term of former Councilman W. Lee Yantis, resigned, was held within the limits of the Town of Southlake, Texas; and. WHEREAS$ on the 12th day of October, A. D. 1957, at a ragular meeting of the Town Council the result of said election were canvassed by the 'Mayor 3n the presence of the Town Council, and said canvas showed that such result was as follows: COUNCI LtMV J. E. Douglas - 16 Votes Morris L. Barry - 10 Votes Howard Gilbert - 14 Votes NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: THAT, the canvas of the result of said election be and is hereby approved and that J. E. Douglas having received the highest number of votes for Office of Councilman is hereby elected to said office end is to serve as such officer for the unexpired term of W. Lee Yantis resigned, or until his successor Is duly elected and qualified. THAT, such officer is hereby instructed to take the oath of office as by law provided and to file such oath with the Town Secretary. ADOPTED this 12 day of October, A. D. 1957.
