Item 4D - Memo Item 4D Page 1 of 2 M E M O R A N D U M (June 20, 2023) To: Shana Yelverton, City Manager From: Rob Cohen P.E., Director of Public Works Subject: Authorize additional expenditures with Wildstone Construction, LLC for the construction of the Jones Branch Sewer Relocation as well as emergency repairs of the water and wastewater infrastructure for a total of an amount not to exceed of $1,750,000. Action Requested: Authorize additional expenditures with Wildstone Construction, LLC for the construction of the Jones Branch Sewer Relocation as well as emergency repairs of the water and wastewater infrastructure for a total of an amount not to exceed of $1,750,000. Background Information: The City of Southlake requires the assistance of a third-party utility contractor to complete large scale emergency repairs of critical water infrastructure as the need arises. Smaller scale emergency repairs are performed in-house by Public Works Water Division personnel. Public Works Water and Wastewater divisions have estimated a total of $1,000,000 for the Jones Branch Sewer Relocation as well as emergency repairs for the remainder of FY 2023. Jones Branch Emergency Sewer Relocation is a time sensitive project that is at high risk of becoming a health and safety risk to those currently residing along Jones Branch Creek and downstream. This is due to soil erosion in the area compromising and threatening the integrity of the infrastructure. Previous authorization with Wildstone was approved for $750,000 on November 1, 2022.
