PROJECT: Sign Variance for Allstates World Cargo
EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY: Priority Signs, on behalf of Allstates World Cargo, is requesting approval of
variances to Sign Ordinance No. 704, as amended, for attached building signs for
Allstates World Cargo located at 1080 S. Kimball Ave., Suite 100.
DETAILS: Priority Signs is requesting variances for logo height and logo area for two attached
signs for Allstates World Cargo: one on the north elevation facing Kimball Ave. and
one on the west elevation facing an internal drive. The text portion of the signs is
compliant with Sign Ordinance No. 704, as amended, and was permitted by staff
and installed by the sign company. The applicant is now requesting to add their
logo to both signs; however, the logo exceeds the allowable height and area and
requires variance approval.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
APPLICANT: Priority Signs
OWNER: Allstates World Cargo
PROPERTY SITUATION: 1080 S Kimball Ave., Suite 100
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 1, Block 1, Heritage Business Park No. 2
CURRENT ZONING: “I-1” Light Industrial District
HISTORY: The Certificate of Occupancy was obtained on December 20, 2023.
Staff approved the sign application for the north and west elevations on
December 27, 2023, and inspected the signs on March 16, 2023.
Staff received the sign variance application on April 12, 2023 with a
modification to include the logo on the north and west elevations.
SIGN BOARD: May 18, 2023; Approved (4-0) granting the variance request for both logo
height and logo area including the north and west elevation.
CITY COUNCIL:
STAFF COMMENTS: City Council approval of the request does not eliminate the requirement for
a sign application submittal prior to sign installation. Please contact Seantay
