We are wrapping up construction on 1029 Shady Oaks, Permit NRES20-0047. During our final
inspection, it was pointed out that new construction homes are supposed to have sidewalks built
in front of them, however, we would be the only house on this side of the street to have a
sidewalk (see photos attached). We would then have an unusable sidewalk cutting across our
property, with no connections on the existing sides. Currently, there is a sidewalk on the opposite
side of the street that we believe provides sufficient room for private and public use. We would
like to apply for a Variance, to be exempt from this sidewalk requirement. Can you please let us
know if this is a possibility, and what additional information you would need from us to do so?
