FORUM SUMMARY:
Property Situation:
The property is located at 747 W. SH 114
Development Details:
The applicant is proposing the development and construction of the approximately 210,700
square foot Verizon data center and operations center on 747 W. SH 114 (between W. Kirkwood
Blvd. and W. SH 114, north of the existing Verizon Wireless campus at 500 W. Dove Road,
Southlake). There will be 5 data center pods (buildings), one operations building, and an enclosed
access spine (between the data center pods) for the proposed complex. Only two pods and the
operation center will be constructed initially. The pods will be constructed perpendicular to W. SH
114 to reduce the site view impact of delivery trucks from the street. Employees for the data center
that will access the operations building from the W. Dove Road entrance (no access from W.
Kirkwood Blvd.) There will be 200 feet of existing undisturbed tree buffer and two existing ponds
that will between the data center complex and W. Kirkwood Blvd. to buffer the adjacent
neighborhood. The facility will be constructed in 2 phases- the 1st phase will include the operations
center and 2 data center pods. The second phase will include the remaining 3 data center pods.
The goal of the development was to screen the facility from the neighborhood.
Presentation:
Questions and Concerns:
1. What is the timetable for Phases 1 and 2? Phase 1 will be constructed as soon as possible
after City approval in the Spring 2022. There is no specified time for Phase 2 construction.
2. How long will the construction take for Phase 1? Will need to check on the construction
time for Phase 1.
