Action Requested: Authorize expenditures with Davidson Reconstruction, Inc. for various projects in City facilities in an amount not to exceed $160,000. Background Information: The City of Southlake contracts with a construction firm to complete facility projects as needed. These projects are necessary to maintain City buildings and renovate workspaces. Typical projects include painting and remodeling of public spaces, construction of offices, and repairs to the buildings and roofing systems. Davidson Reconstruction, Inc. has previously completed various renovations projects for the City such as the restroom remodeling of all floors at Town Hall, space reconfiguration of multiple departments within Town Hall, restroom installation at DPS Headquarters, remodel of the Police Department's front desk at DPS Headquarters, and the remodel of the Activity Center. Financial Considerations: The City's purchasing policy for these construction services is met through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) government purchasing contract #200201. TIPS is a purchasing cooperative of the Texas Region 8 Education Service Center (ESC). Each awarded vendor has met strict Competitive Bidding Process guidelines established by the ESC 8 administration and the TIPS legal team. Page 1 of 3 Item 4R The table below itemizes projects scheduled with Davidson Reconstruction in FY 2023: FY 2023 Projects Cost Town Hall Entry Doors Painting $ 1,613 DPS HQ Gates Painting $ 10,700 DPS HQ Patrol Office Remodel $ 23,570 Contingency Funds for Annual Maintenance $ 30,126 Southlake Town Center Parking Garage Gates $ 42,297 Activity Center Dumpster Enclosure $ 51,694 Total expected expenditures $ 160,000 For the past four fiscal years, the City has spent the following with Davidson Reconstruction, Inc. for various construction services: • FY 2019, $475,358 • FY 2020, $230,275 • FY 2021, $136,739 • FY 2022, $227,959 Due to historical spending to maintain all city facilities, staff is requesting authorization up to $160,000 for construction services in FY 2023. Funding for construction services on various projects in City facilities is available via the FY 2023 Facilities Operating Budget ($136,430) and the Crime Control Prevention District (CCPD) Budget ($23,570).
