Mayor John Huffman led the pledges of allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags. 3. HONORS & RECOGNITION: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE AND THE MAYOR'S ALLIANCE FOR UNITY AND CULTURE Deputy Director of Public Works Administration Lauren LaNeave recognized the service of the members of the Community Engagement Committee and the Mayor’s Alliance for Unity and Culture. 4. HONORS & RECOGNITION: PROCLAMATION FOR SOUTHLAKE DREAMERS BASEBALL ITEM 4A REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES, AUGUST 16, 2022 Page 2 of 12 This item was taken during the Mayor’s Report to allow for the players to attend after football practice. Mayor Huffman recognized the Southlake Dreamers Baseball team who played in the Cooperstown Baseball Tournament in the summer. 5. DISCUSS ALL ITEMS ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA. Chief Financial Officer Sharen Jackson provided an overview of the property taxes, tax rate reduction, homestead exemption, tax relief, General Fund highlights, FY 2023 proposed expenditures, General Fund budget, property tax supported CIP, and the FY 2022 debt service highlights. Assistant City Manager Alison Ortowski provided an overview of the safety and security investments, quality development investments, and partnership investments. Deputy Director of Public Works Administration Lauren LaNeave provided an overview of the mobility investments, and infrastructure investments. Senior Director of Human Resources Stacey Black provided an overview of the performance management investments, volunteer highlights, workforce investments, employer of choice information, and benefits and compensation. City Manager Shana Yelverton provided information regarding the upcoming public hearing dates scheduled for September 6 and September 20. 11.
