PARKS BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Frances Scharli, Vice Chairman Paul Venesky, and
members Stacey Driscoll, Magdalena Battles, Chad Bedwell, John Thomas, and William Thornton

1. CALL TO ORDER
Southlake Parks Development Corporation President Williamson called the SPDC meeting to
order at 4:02pm.
Parks Board Chair Scharli called the Parks & Recreation Board meeting to order at 4:02pm.
2. PUBLIC FORUM
President Williamson opened the public forum at 4:05pm. There being no one wishing to speak,
President Williamson closed the public forum at 4:05pm.
3. CONSENT
3A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 21, 2022, SOUTHLAKE PARKS DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION MEETING (SPDC ACTION ONLY).
President Williamson presented Item 3A, and there were no questions from the board.

A motion was made to approve the minutes from the June 21, 2022, Southlake Parks
Development Corporation meeting.

4. DISCUSSION
I4A. PROPOSED BIRD WATCHING PROJECT (SPDC AND PARKS BOARD DISCUSSION AND
FEEDBACK)
Director of Community Services Chris Tribble presented Item 4A and answered questions from
the Board.
Both SPDC and Parks Board members agreed that a bird watching area would be ideal and
unique; however, other funding options may need to be considered. The utilization of other bird
watching facilities will need to be evaluated.
5. CONSIDERATION
5A. RECOMMENDATION ON THE PROPOSED FY 2023 SPDC OPERATING BUDGET. PUBLIC
HEARING (SPDC ACTION ONLY).
Director of Community Services Chris Tribble presented Item 5A and answered questions from
the Board.
President Williamson opened the public hearing at 4:46pm. There being no one wishing to speak,

Operating Budget, as presented.

was required.
