Action Requested: City Council approval of the contract with Wildstone Construction, LLC for the purchase and installation of an 8" waterline and fire hydrant to serve the existing nature center building and new barn. Background Information: The purpose of this item is to approve the purchase and installation of an 8” waterline and fire hydrant to serve the existing nature center building and new barn at the Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve. A new fire hydrant located within 300 feet of the building structures, fed by an 8” waterline, is required to meet the International Fire Code standards for hydrant spacing and hydrant availability to structures. The current hydrant is 1,200 feet from the current building. Financial Considerations: Funding for this item will be a combination of General Fund and Park Dedication Fund dollars. A budget amendment will be incorporated during the budget process this summer.
