Item 9BXM CITY OF SOUTH LAKE MEMORANDUM June 14, 2022 To: Shana Yelverton, City Manager From: Chris Tribble, Director of Community Services Subject: Approve contract with Wildstone Construction, LLC for the purchase and installation of an 8" waterline and fire hydrant associated with the new nature center barn in amount not to exceed $150,000. Action Requested: City Council approval of the contract with Wildstone Construction, LLC for the purchase and installation of an 8" waterline and fire hydrant to serve the existing nature center building and new barn. Background Information: The purpose of this item is to approve the purchase and installation of an 8" waterline and fire hydrant to serve the existing nature center building and new barn at the Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve. A new fire hydrant located within 300 feet of the building structures, fed by an 8" waterline, is required to meet the International Fire Code standards for hydrant spacing and hydrant availability to structures. The current hydrant is 1,200 feet from the current building. Financial Considerations: Funding in the amount of $150,000 is being reallocated within the FY 2022 Community Services Department General Fund and SPDC operating budgets for this project Strategic Link: This item is linked to the City's Strategy Map related to the focus area of Infrastructure and meets the corporate objective to Invest to provide and maintain high quality public assets.
