CITY OF © SOUTHLAKE SOUTHLAKE YOUTH ACTION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES: Monday, October 11, 2021 LOCATION: THE MARQ SOUTHLAKE Champions Club- Hall of Fame Classroom 285 Shady Oaks Drive Southlake, Texas 76092 TIME: 4:15 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Srishthi Das, Nicole Beres, Sophia Wilwayco, Allison Bedwell, Safiy Islam, Ayana Perera, Sarah Ali, Eesha Bethi, Samad Rizvi, Saarim Syed, Katy Lin, Surina Kishinchandani, and Ria Singh AGENDA: Call to Order — Meeting was called to order at 4:18PM Consent A. Approve the minutes from the May 10, 2021- Motion to approve the minutes with no corrections was made by Katy Lin and seconded by Eesha Bethi. Motion carried (7-0) 3. Discussion A. Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez presented an overview of the Southlake Youth Action Commission and its purpose to act as an advisory board to the City Council in all matters effecting youth programs and Issues. Assistant Lopez was available to answer questions. B. Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez presented an overview of the Southlake Youth Action Commission Bylaws and was available to answer questions. C. Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez presented an overview of the Southlake Youth Action Commission election process for Board Officers and was available to answer questions. D. Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez presented an overview of the Adopt a Street Project and was available to answer questions. Direction to Staff: Add consideration item for first Adopt a Street Project date E. Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez presented an overview of the Volunteer Southlake program and was available to answer questions. Direction to Staff: Provide SYAC Members volunteer opportunities for the Special Election and Home for the Holidays if available. Add action item to next meeting for collaborative calendar 4. Adjournment — Motion to adjourn the meeting at 4:52p.m. was made by Katy Lin and seconded by Samad Rizvi.
