PROJECT: Sign Variance for Natuzzi Editions
EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY: Priority Signs and Graphics is requesting approval of a sign variance to Sign
Ordinance No. 704, as amended, for Natuzzi Editions located at 1600 E. Southlake
Blvd., Suite 100, Southlake, Texas.
DETAILS: The property is located west of the E. Southlake Blvd. and S. Village Center Drive
intersection.
The applicant is requesting a variance to allow two signs on the same fagade by
installing an additional front facade sign below the existing approved sign. The
proposed sign is considered an additional sign as it is separated by a horizontal
architectural detail. The sign will exceed the allowable one sign for a building
fagade with two signs on one fagade and will exceed the total sign area for the
front fagade. The proposed sign will have 10-inch reverse non -illuminated white
channel letters.
Recently at this location, Natuzzi (SV21-0026) received approval for a larger than
permitted letter height and sign area. Starpower (SV16-016) received sign
variance approval to allow larger than permitted letter heights and sign areas for
both signs. Starpower received approval for two signs on the south and east
elevations. The Starpower sign was approved for a logo height of 84 inches.
At the Sign Board meeting on April 21, 2022, the Sign Board recommended the
applicant provide an additional design option for the City Council meeting that
would move the "Home Furnishings" tag line below the existing Natuzzi Editions
sign. Natuzzi Editions prefers to maintain the design presented at the Sign Board
meeting for the City Council's consideration.
