Comments / Explanation Lonesome Dove Baptist Church has been apart of Southlake’s
history since 1846 and has truly stood the test of time. I myself
have been a member of the church for 20 years and have
witnessed under Pastor Jason Stover’s leadership a major
growth causing the need for a church expansion project. Pastor
Stover and the elders of the church have worked tirelessly to
find a building company who specializes in building onto
existing churches in a way that allows the church to still
assemble. Lonesome Dove Church has always been a
neighborhood church and the building expansion does not
change that. Our desire as a church to expand does not
outweigh our desire to always be a church where no one goes
unnoticed and everyone knows everyone. The approval of the
building project would mean so much to the church and the
ability to further reach the community.

Comments / Explanation I believe this project will be good for both the aesthetics and
the overall value of the area. Though I love my current Church,
the overall appearance laves a bit to be desired. After all, the
campuses’ epicenter is made up of buildings erected from
bargain basement materials from the 1930’s. The other
buildings contain all the utilitarian charm of other such
structures built in the 1970’s. The new structure will be good for
the church as well as the surrounding neighborhood.

the last 7 years and we have watched God do amazing things
through our current facility. Our youth and children ministries
are in high growth, which means more families attending on

Comments / Explanation This church preceded everything which became Southlake and
Grapevine. Founded in 1846 and remaining on the current
property since 1847. Churches close up and churches grow.
Thankfully, this one has grown and continues to grow. A higher
capacity facility is needed to hold all the families that now
attend and the others who will attend in the future. Neighbors
regularly make improvements on their houses and property. It's
time for the church to improve on their property. The church
was here before any of the current houses folks chose to build
around it by more than 100 years. Surely neighbors who
purchased houses near the church considered it just might
experience future growth some day.

Comments / Explanation Moved to Southlake Dove Estates in 1991, and enjoyed
watching the historic church Lonesome Dove Baptists grow,
add facilities and keep their property maintained quite well.
Moved to Trophy Club in 2010, and recently became a member
of Lonesome Dove Baptist Church. I believe the proposed
building expansion will benefit the overall look of the facilities,
and fit nicely into the small-church vision that the members all
appreciate and plan to maintain.

Our little 175 year old church is growing! We are maxed out and need more seats. Pastor Jason and Ginger
Stover have been a blessing and has grown our membership substantially. We are about out of space in the

Comments / Explanation I am 100% supportive of Lonesome Dove expanding and
updating their current building. Lonesome Dove is a pillar of the
Southlake community and is an integral part of the history of
Southlake (and Grapevine). A quick perusal of the Southlake
Historical society is FULL of articles, photos, and history of the
church. Please approve any and all building requests to the
fullest. The church hasn't expanded physically for about 20
years. It's time for the church to meet the growing demand of its
members. Thank you in advance for your favorable
consideration. My family (wife and 5 children) have faithfully
attended the church since 2008. The church means so much to
me personally as well as many in the community.
